About the Episode

Anthony’s world suddenly froze after the shock of what just happened. The high of being the first in his family to graduate high school was sunk to the low of being punched in the face by an abusive, alcoholic stepfather. Anthony’s life had been riddled with struggle, trauma, and pain. An absent father, a mother with mental health struggles, using a government meal ticket to get free lunch at five years old and even looking for his next meal while his peers looked for where to go to college. Now, Anthony has served in the armed forces for over 16 years, worked with the President of the United States, and is retiring at age 38.
